Kidsmoon

Two kids, 10 gray hairs later and I am finally returning to Barbados. Can't believe it has been 17 years since I last felt warm rays of sunlight piercing through my skin. Oh how I missed this island! My husband and I decided to vacation where we honeymooned only this time the kids are with us. Oh what a tragedy this might be. The constant whining on the plane about how bored they were going to be on the island was a great start to my vacation.

Earplugs in listening to music as that's the only way they thought they were going survive the boredom. Upon arrival at our villa I heard "hmmm sweet spot" is my hearing failing me at my old age or did I hear my son express content/approval of our accommodation.

During the tour of the villa our host gave us the password for the wireless internet, I see the kids' iPhones appear from no where "ping ping ping" yup they are connected. Our tour rep showed us the activities she booked for us and it looks like we have an exciting week ahead of us. Belle and Dane chose their rooms while my husband and I unpacked in our gorgeous master room. Awaiting dinner by our villa chef we lounged around by the pool, kids nose deep in their phones, my husband with rum punch in one hand and a golf brochure in the next and me nervous hoping that we all have a great vacation.

The week flew by as time flies when you are having fun, horseback riding, zip lining, golf, island safari and oh my the beach which wasn't only enjoyed for tanning but jet skis, paddle boarding and beach tennis were only a few of our week's activities. My daughter put her waterproof iPhone case to the test when she captured photos us snorkeling with turtles which she anxiously posted.

Oh Barbados because of you my kids ignored their phones, my husband practiced his golf swing, I gained two pounds but most of all enjoyed our family vacation. "If Barbados is this good during winter I can't imagine how much more fun it will be during summer when it's Cropover".
