Caribbean Nights

An amber sun sets on the horizon of a glistening blue ocean. The sweet, warm evening embraces you, and you begin to fill with excitement. The night is pregnant with potential, the air bursting at the seams with promises of freedom, fun, and memories. An island of pleasures and parties. An island of possibilities.

Sounds fictional, doesn’t it? Newsflash: it’s not. The little island of Barbados is mind-blowingly stuffed with vibrant happenings. I mean, half their year is a festival, and the other half is an excuse to party! Why else would so many celebs choose this tropical getaway for their secretive (famous) fiestas and siestas between shoots? We’d hate to sound like a tabloid, but a fact is a fact.

You’d be hard-pressed to find another paradise with as many places to let loose as Bim (Barbados). Here are but a few of their must-sees:

Harbour Lights

Bar-hopping the numerous lively beach bars inhabited by islanders and tourists, be sure to swing by Harbour Lights. Perfectly placed on Carlisle Bay Beach, on the island’s Southwest Coast, it’s an exceptional nightclub with a crazy schedule. Jiggle the night away as their DJs pump up the dance floor, and don’t miss the fantastic fun to be had with their live shows and themed parties.

The Mews

For an evening of premium indulgence in fine wine and dining (how very adult of you), head out to the stylishly simple and intimately set, The Mews. In Holetown on Bim’s West Coast, this little restaurant is situated in a quaint colonial townhouse, and it offers delightfully different menus with varied influences. It even hosts cosy live performances on some nights. If you stay long enough, you’ll get to witness the metamorphosis of the downstairs bar as it turns into a vibey drinkery after hours.

Priva

If you’re looking for a night of downright partying at a high-end hotspot, then Priva is the answer to your prayers. Located in the social hive that is Holetown, this award-winning nightclub promises to meet your party needs with its chic lounges and hot dance floor. International celebs have been known to grace this popular club, and world famous DJs play their hearts out within its walls.

St Lawrence’s Gap

Fondly known as “The Gap”, St Lawrence’s Gap is a neighbourhood in the Christ Church parish on the Southern Coast, and it’s a night-time experience not to be missed. This eclectic neighbourhood fosters nightclubs, restaurants, bars, and accommodations that host guests from all walks of life – the rich and famous, budgeting students, entire families, and whoever. This social hub beats rhythmically on a drum of diversity, and is sure to have something for everyone.

Explaining what fun awaits the willing in Bim is an endless task. As the Bajan might say: “Fishaman neva say dat he fish stink” (No one ever describes themselves negatively). While that may be true, the Bajan actually wouldn’t say that – they’re too busy partying it up.
